Fitbit's just-released Fitbit Care health coaching and disease prevention platform allows wearable tech users to connect with their doctors for personalized digital interventions.

As detailed in their press release, Fitbit Care is a part of the Fitbit Health Solutions and has been selected by Humana as the coaching solution for all its 5 million members.

“This unique offering will allow us to better support our 1,600-plus enterprise health customers and the 100-plus health plans that we work with through a comprehensive platform that can help deliver positive, lasting outcomes for their employees and members,” said Adam Pellegrini, Fitbit Health Solutions' general manager.

Moreover, the Fitbit Care platform combines virtual care and health coaching to enable users of Fitbit wearable devices to track their daily activity, heart rate, sleep, and other such metrics to get a better understanding of their overall health status.

Fitbit Care makes it possible for Fitbit device users to take control of their health easier than ever before

To take full advantage of what the Fitbit Care platform has to offer, users have to install the Fitbit Plus application which adds support for keeping close track of more advanced health metrics such as medication adherence, blood glucose, and pressure.

Furthermore, with the help of the Fitbit Plus app, Fitbit Care users can get an overview of health trends over long periods of time, as well as keep in touch with their health coach and care team.

Health coaches help Fitbit Care users to keep their health goals under scrutiny via phone, in-app and in-person meetings, enabling them to manage chronic diseases appropriately, and to create and follow long-term personalized care plans.

Wearable Fitbit devices can also use the Fitbit Care platform to send real-time health data to a user's care team with his consent, for better-personalized care recommendations.
