Microsoft has recently rolled out the first Windows 10 19H1 SDK, bringing a series of changes like the WPA3 support we told you about earlier.

As Microsoft announces, this SDK build 18272 includes bug fixes and under development changes to the API surface area, and it needs to be used with Visual Studio 2017.

Beginning with this version, only Visual Studio 2017 can be used to work with Windows 10 SDKs, and Microsoft says that build 18272 can also be used with previously-released SDKs.

“You can install this SDK and still also continue to submit your apps that target Windows 10 build 1803 or earlier to the Microsoft Store,” the company explains.

Windows 10 19H1

Windows 10 19H1 is currently in preview stage and is available for Windows insiders in the Skip Ahead and Fast rings. Microsoft keeps the Slow and Release Preview rings on Windows 10 October 2018 Update, as further testing is still necessary before it’s being re-released.

On the other hand, the next feature update for Windows 10 is still in its early days, and once the October update becomes available to everyone for the second time, the company can focus entirely on preparing it for a spring release.

Windows 10 19H1 is projected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2019, and according to Microsoft’s typical release schedule, the RTM should be signed off in March. As always, insiders will be the first to get it, most likely during the same month, while the public rollout would kick off in April.

While an official name for Windows 10 19H1 hasn’t been announced just yet, it’s expected to land as version 1903, a direct reference to its RTM compiling date. The first two digits represent the year when the RTM was finalized, while the other two stand for the month of this milestone.
