Five cameras, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the screen

The first Samsung Galaxy S10 commercial has leaked to the web only a few hours before the official unveiling of the device, and it confirms pretty much we already knew.

While the number of leaks that made the rounds lately could turn Samsung’s Unpacked event into a lot less exciting moment for many users out there, the ad here comes to confirm several key changes making their way to the new flagship.

First and foremost, it confirms the Galaxy S10+ will launch with five different cameras, three on the back and two on the front. The front-facing cameras will be embedded into the glass thanks to the Infinity O display that basically allowed Samsung to drill holes into the screen.

Reverse wireless charging

Furthermore, the ad also highlights the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that will also be placed under the glass. This feature, however, will only be offered on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, as the base model, which will be called Galaxy S10e, will ship with a fingerprint reader on the side.

This most likely a matter of costs, as Samsung wants to position the S10e as a rival to the iPhone XR and make it more affordable without giving up on key features like the fingerprint sensor.

The ad also indicates the Galaxy S10 will feature reverse wireless charging. Already available on phones from other makers, like Huawei, reverse wireless charging allows the Galaxy S10 to recharge other devices wirelessly. Most likely, this functionality will come in handy for recharging the ear buds that Samsung also wants to introduce as AirPods alternative (and also showcased in this video).

The Galaxy S10 will go on sale in early March in the largest markets across the world, with a 5G variant also planned for the countries where such networks exist.
