Microsoft is all-in when it comes to its gaming business, which can only mean one thing: better offers for gamers. After revealing the price of its next-generation consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Microsoft announced another major change to its Xbox Game Pass service.
Starting this holiday, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get EA Play for no additional cost. EA Play is Electronic Arts subscription service that gives gamers access to more than 60 games, including FIFA 20, Titanfall 2, Need for Speed Heat, as well as titles from the publisher's most popular franchises like Battlefield, Mass Effect, Skate, and The Sims.
Typically, EA Play (formerly EA Access) costs $5 per month ($30 per year), but Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get it for free. EA Play launched first to Xbox One in August 2014 and it later arrived on PlayStation 4 in 2019. Less than two weeks ago, EA Play made its debut on Steam, thus putting EA's subscription-based video game service just about everywhere that it counts.
Later this year, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members will be provided with an EA Play membership at no additional cost. This means that Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows 10 PCs, and Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10.
Apart from being allowed to play more than 60 of EA's biggest and best console and PC games, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be offered exclusive in-game challenges and rewards, special member-only content, discounts on EA digital purchases for DLC, games, and more.
Last but not least, this holiday, some of the best EA Play games will also be available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play on Android devices via the cloud at no additional charge.
