Dune: Spice Wars is still a work in progress, but that doesn’t mean that fans who jumped the gun and bought the Early Access version won’t get new content every once in a while. Over the weekend, developer Shiro Games and publisher Funcom announced the 4X real-time strategy game is getting its fifth playable faction: House Corrino.

Adding a new faction to the is never an easy feat, as each house in Dune comes with its own strengths and weaknesses. In this case, House Corrino’s focus is on manipulating the CHOAM market and the Landsraad. If that doesn’t work, the Imperial House Corrino, which has Princess Irulan and Wensicia Corrino, daughters of Shaddam IV, among councilors, they typically send the ruthless Sardaukar to squash any resistance.

House Corrino features a total of four councilor, at least for the moment. Apart from the Emperor’s daughters, Captain Aramsham is part of the quartet too, alongside Hasimir Fenring, the assassin mentat and one of the deadliest fighters in the imperium, and the closest friend of Shaddam IV.

Just like the other factions, House Corrino provides players with several bonuses. For example, players who take control of House Corrino will gain Hegemony by paying the Guild Fees. Also, the new faction can use Imperial Edict on Landsraad resolutions to switch their scope. In case a resolution affects all factions, it will now affect one faction and vice versa.

Depending on the Hegemony level, House Corrino will be able to use Main Base Deployment on its own or neutral villages to land a second Main Base. Additionally, at max Hegemony, House Corrino get massive 30% Airfield bonuses, as well as missile attacks from 30% further and +30 Landsraad Standing when other factions are elected to charters.

There’s a lot about House Corrino that makes the faction pretty interesting and fun to play, so if you’ve already bought Dune: Spice Wars, why not give it a whirl.
