The update adds 4:2:2 10-bit video recording capabilities

Today, Panasonic has announced the availability of a 1.1 firmware package developed for its new LUMIX DC-GH5 DSLM Camera, which adds 4:2:2 10-bit video recording capabilities to Anamorphic (4:3) mode, as well as other features.

Specifically speaking, the current update resolves an issue where afterimages appeared when recording video under high ISO sensitivity settings ([V-LogL] of Photo Style mode), and allows selecting either FHD [MP4 (LPCM)] or [MOV] recording formats.

In addition to that, version 1.1 also corrects the exposure adjustment during live view standby. However, this issue might have been encountered when the SS/Gain Operation display was set to ANGLE/ISO while Variable Frame Rate was selected for Creative Video mode.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the “GH5__V11.bin” file onto a formatted SD card, insert it into the camera, turn the unit on, and initiate the upgrade.

However, bear in mind that while installing you mustn’t turn the device off, use any of its buttons, or remove the SD card, battery, or lens. Doing so will interrupt the upgrade and might also lead to various device malfunctions.

Last but not least, once the upgrade has finished, make sure to remove and format the SD memory card, and check the currently installed firmware to make sure that the 1.1 version has been applied properly.

That said, download Panasonic DC-GH5 Camera Firmware 1.1, carefully update your camera’s firmware to the latest version, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
