Panasonic has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its LUMIX GX80 (DMC-GX80) and LUMIX GX85 (DMC-GX85) cameras, namely version 1.1, which promises to add a few new features to the devices’ menu.

Specifically speaking, the present update includes a new “Sequence” option to Focus Bracket recordings and allows owners to set “Flash Mode” to “Forced Flash Off” for units with a built-in flash.

In addition to that, version 1.1 also implements the Focus Stacking function that enables users to enlarge focus area after shooting. This improvement is made possible by combining multiple images shot with the Post Focus function.

In terms of installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive for your device model, transfer the .bin file onto a formatted SD card, make sure your LUMIX unit’s battery is fully charged, and insert the memory card into the camera.

Now, turn on the LUMIX device, press Play, wait for it to recognize the new firmware, and agree with the installation process. However, do not interrupt the upgrade in any way, as this can lead to various malfunctions.

Last but not least, once finished, remove and format the SD memory card, and check the currently installed firmware to make sure that the 1.1 version has been applied properly.

With this in mind, download Panasonic DMC-GX80 Firmware 1.1 or download Panasonic DMC-GX85 Firmware 1.1, apply it and continue to check back with us to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
