The device is said to be several weeks behind schedule

Apple is going to launch four new iPhone models in September, and without a doubt, one of the models that are going to get a lot of attention is the all-new iPhone 14 Max.

So basically, the four-device lineup will include the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The company is therefore dropping the mini form factor, obviously as the 5.4-inch model has so far performed well below expectations.

According to analyst Jeff Pu, the all-new iPhone 14 Max is already experiencing some delays, as Pegatron, the company in charging of producing the device, has interrupted its operations due to the lockdown happening in Shanghai.

This means the actual mass production of the iPhone 14 Max could now start in late August, and this is only a few weeks before the device is announced and likely just approximately one month ahead of the start of sales.

iPhone 14 Max launching later than the other models?

Is this going to produce a delay in terms of the sales kickoff as well?

This is hard to say, but don’t be too surprised if the iPhone 14 Max hits the shelves later than the other models. In theory, Apple could still have the necessary time to work with Pegatron on dealing with this potential delay, especially given the production halt happened in this early phase, but it remains to be seen if this happens or not.

On the other hand, there’s a chance Apple would start selling the iPhone 14 Max with a limited inventory, especially because it’s hard to say if the device would sell in big numbers from the very beginning or not.

But of course, everything could change overnight, so for the time being, just take everything with a healthy pinch of salt.
