Quickly after the official launch of the Debian GNU/Linux 9.9 "Stretch" maintenance release, the Debian Project now published the live and installable ISO images for those who want to download the latest Debian Stretch operating system.

Bundled with over 120 security updates and bug fixes, the Debian GNU/Linux 9.9 release is here to offers users who want to reinstall or deploy the latest Debian GNU/Linux operating system on new computers up-to-date install mediums that include all the updates released through the official repositories since the release of Debian GNU/Linux 9.8 more than two months ago.

Debian GNU/Linux 9.9 ISOs are available as installation-only images for all supported architectures, including 32-bit (i386), 64-bit (amd64), ARM64 (AArch64), Armel, ARMhf, MIPS, MIPSel (MIPS Little Endian), MIPS64el (MIPS 64-bit Little Endian), PPC64el (PowerPC 64-bit Little Endian), and s390x (IBM System z), as well as live images only for 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (amd64) systems.

The live images come in six different flavors with the KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, LXDE, MATE, and Cinnamon desktop environments. A multi-arch image supporting amd64 and i386 architectures is available as well for the Debian GNU/Linux 9.9 release. Of course, you can also install Debian GNU/Linux 9.9 via a network protocol using the netboot images.

Existing users don't need to download the new ISOs

If you're running the Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" operating system series on your personal computer, you don't need to download the new ISO images to keep your installations up to date. You only need to update your installations by installing all the available updates from the official software repositories for Debian Stretch a.k.a. Debian Stable.
