Darksiders Genesis, the spin-off developed by Airship Syndicate has a release date. THQ Nordic has just announced that fans of the series can now pre-order the game if they plan to play it on PC. Unfortunately, console players will have to wait until next year for Darksiders Genesis, THQ Nordic announced.

According to the publisher, the PC and Google Stadia versions of Darksiders Genesis will release on December 5, 2019, while the console versions will release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020. The PC version of the game is now available for pre-order on Steam for $30 / €30.

Although it's a spin-off of the beloved trilogy, Darksiders Genesis features the debut of the fourth and final horsemen – STRIFE – who can battle alongside his brother and fellow horsemen WAR in the first-ever Darksiders two-player co-op mode.

However, Genesis is not just the first Darksiders game to offer two-player co-op mode, but also the first top-down action-adventure in Darksiders franchise history. Solo players will be able to alternate between STRIFE and WAR on the fly, taking advantage of STRIFE’s ranged and WAR’s melee style attacks.

Both characters in the game can build up a special attack meter that, when activated, temporarily turns them into a colossal creature that leaves epic destruction in its wake. It sounds quite exciting, but we don't believe it until we see it.

The good news is that with the launch of Valve's Remote Play Together feature, you can play Darksiders Genesis with your friend with just one copy of the game. The only requirement is to participate in the Steam Client Beta.

Keep in mind that once connected, the game will act as though each player’s controller is plugged directly into your computer, but you'll be able to share control of the keyboard and mouse if your friend wants to use this method of control.
