As if the huge list of bugs in Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) wasn’t enough, the most recent cumulative updates released by Microsoft are also causing issues, including a new problem that was acknowledged by the company on November 21.

The Redmond-based software giant says that after installing the November cumulative updates for Windows 10, users may no longer be able to use the seek bar in Windows Media Player when playing specific files.

Further details aren’t available right now, but Microsoft says it’s already working on a resolution and will provide a fix in an upcoming update.

However, this issue isn’t limited to just the October update, and it hits all the other Windows 10 versions, being caused by the November cumulative updates.

Microsoft confirmed the bug in cumulative update KB4467708 for Windows 10 version 1809, KB4467702 for Windows 10 version 1803 (April 2018 Update), and KB4467686 for Windows 10 version 1709 (Fall Creators Update).

Previous Windows 10 versions, which are no longer getting updates for Home and Pro SKUs, are also impacted.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update

By the looks of things, Windows 10 October 2018 Update is still far from a bug-free operating system update, despite the company pulling it in early October for further testing.

The update was re-released last week and is now gradually being pushed to devices across the world, but users keep finding issues that affect their performance after installation.

Microsoft itself has also confirmed several other glitches in the October update, including a problem hitting Apple users running iCloud for Windows. A compatibility issue is causing various errors on Windows 10, and Microsoft has thus decided to block the update to version 1809 on all devices where the incompatible version of iCloud is detected.

A fix is already in the works, and Microsoft is working with Apple on finalizing it as soon as possible.
