Apple Watch envisioned with iPhone 12-inspired design

Apple launched the iPhone 12 earlier this year, and one of the biggest changes concerns the design, which is based on the look of the original iPhone 4 released so many years ago.

Needless to say, the square edges are what people love the most about this design, and for many, this is an approach that just makes sense not only on smartphones but also on smartwatches.

And until Apple comes up with a similar design for the Apple Watch, a graphic designer on Twitter has come up with a concept envisioning what the whole thing could look like.

In other words, what you see here is an Apple Watch concept imagining a design inspired by the iPhone 12, so the device gives up on the rounded edges for straight ones that are obviously based on the look of the latest smartphone.

Next watch coming in 2021

At first glance, this is an approach that just makes sense, though it goes without saying Apple might not be able to deliver this design update so fast. The next Apple Watch is expected in the fall of 2021 as Series 7, so we’ll hear more about the way it’s supposed to look by the time the production starts.

In the meantime, the design of the Apple Watch hasn’t changed much over the years, and besides the addition of a larger screen with smaller bezels, the smartwatch looks pretty much the same like the original model that launched in 2015.

So theoretically, if Apple wants to go for such an overhaul, it would be quite a dramatic update, and there’s no doubt the company would look into the whole thing carefully before giving the go-ahead in this regard.
