A new standalone adventure in the Dan and Ben series

Lair of the Clockwork God is one of those rare games that combine two genres that are normally incompatible with one another – point & click adventure and platformer. The game is developed by Size Five Games, the same studio that gave us the old Dan and Ben games: Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please!

After more than a decade in development, Lair of the Clockwork God finally made its debut on PC. You can grab it right now for $20 or €17 with a 10 percent discount via Steam (special promotion ending on February 28).

Before we go into details, it's worth noting that you don't need to have played the original games, which star the same characters. Lair of the Clockwork God is a standalone adventure and not a sequel or a prequel to the original Dan and Ben games.

That being said, Lair of Clockwork God is a humorous adventure about Ben, an old-school LucasArt point & click fanboy, and Dan, a young fellow who aspires to be the next big hit indie platformer character.

We first started throwing around ideas for a third Dan and Ben game over 10 years ago. It's been a long grueling road, but I'm over the moon to finally share this weird, funny little creation of ours with the world,” said writer, star, and 'best one out of the Dan and Ben adventures' Dan Marshall.

You'll not only switch between the two characters during gameplay, but you'll also switch game genres. Ben will help you solve classic point & click puzzles and create unique upgrades for the Dan, while Dan will unlock new areas and new puzzles for Ben.

To overcome all the challenges that game throws at you, you need to master both classic point & click adventure and platformer game genres, which is no easy feat. It's a bold, yet interesting concept that hasn't been used too often in the gaming industry, so we'd strongly recommend giving it a try.
