New version of CCleaner now up for grabs on Windows

CCleaner has just received another important update, this time bringing improvements for users whose computers have already been updated to Windows 10 Creators Update.

Currently at version 5.31, CCleaner is one of the top system optimization tools, coming with a rich feature pack that includes tools to remove invalid registry items, manage startup items, delete temporary files, and other utilities to boost system performance and keep it in tip-top shape.

The latest update for CCleaner includes improved support for Windows 10 Creators Update, the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system that was released in April this year. Windows 10 Creators Update is already becoming one of the most popular versions of Windows 10 and is widely adopted by more users as its availability expands, so making CCleaner fully support it was certainly a priority.

In addition, CCleaner 5.31 also introduces refinements to Firefox history cleaning, but also to Google Chrome cache and history cleaning.

Improved high-DPI support

One important feature for Windows 10 users is the improved high-DPI support. Even though Windows 10 introduced a series of improvements in this regard, Windows 10 is still suffering from high-DPI issues, with older Win32 software rendered incorrectly especially on displays with higher resolution.

The only way to tackle this problem is for developers to update their apps to support high-DPI screens, and although Microsoft tried to improve this with the Creators Update and a couple of new settings for Win32 programs, there still are issues with outdated apps.

And last but not least, CCleaner is also bringing an improvement for the Professional version (which is not available free of charge though), with optimizations aimed at scheduling features packed in this build.

All in all, this update is clearly worth installing, especially for existing users of the app, so head over to Softpedia to download CCleaner if you’re already on the Windows 10 Creators Update (though the program also works correctly with older versions of Windows).
