Prepare for yet another multiplayer game with Battle Royale

A couple of Beta events have been announced for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and it looks like the developers from Treyarch are gearing up for the official release.

The announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not feature a single-player campaign and that developers are now focusing on bringing a new multiplayer experience to players, that, of course, includes a Battle Royale mode, didn't make a lot of people happy.

The Battle Royale fever seems to be spreading, and many studios want to have a product that has the same success as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. These two games have a hefty advantage, but that won’t stop other developers from trying to achieve their goals.

Not one, but two Betas are coming

We’re not used to the fact that a console will usually have some sort of priority in Betas, and the same can be said about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. As it stands right now, the first private Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be for PlayStation 4, and it will start on August 3 at 10 am/PT and ends on August 6 at 10 am/PT.

The Beta for PC and Xbox One will arrive in the following week, and will start on August 10, at 10am/PT, and ends on August 13, at 10 am/PT. Furthermore, in September, a new mode called Blackout will be introduced, and will only be available for the PlayStation 4.

Also, PC Beta Early Access exclusively available through Battle.Net will start on August 10 at 10 am/PT, and the open Beta for the PC will start on August 11 at 10am/PT and end on August 13 at 10 am/PT.

“Games are better when they’re a result of a dialogue with our community. Not only does it improve the game’s quality, but it allows us to respond to player feedback and custom-craft the experience to how players engage most with the game. We want launch day to be a celebration that players around the world can enjoy together, and we know it won’t stop there - we will always work tirelessly to improve, grow, and evolve the game beyond launch,” said Co-Studio Head Dan Bunting.

It’s also important to mention that the private Beta will provide access to modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search & Destroy, along with the brand new Control. As expected, a number of specialized gear will be made available as well.
