The new project might have been greenlit by Microsoft too

Following the surprising acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, the troubled US developer behind World of Warcraft and Diablo series, revealed a brand-new game for PC and console. Although Blizzard’s new project doesn’t have title yet, it’s a clear sign that the studio is ready to try out new things after the fiasco of just about every other franchise in its portfolio.

The reveal is more like a call to join its project by those who’re interested to work for Blizzard. The studio has several open roles for its unannounced survival game set in an all-new universe: Environment Artist, Senior Character Artist, Technical Artist, VFX Artist, Senior Character Concept Artist, Associate Level Designer, Level Designer, Lead Software Engineer – Engine, Senior Software Engineer – Audio, Senior Software Engineer – Server, and Senior Software Engineer – Tools.

Blizzard’s new project is likely to have been greenlit by Microsoft since the acquisition deal will close next year. If Microsoft’s Xbox team have found Blizzard’s survival game interesting enough to allow the studio to start hiring, let’s just say that we’re really anxious to learn more about it.

Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored. Every story needs a teller. And every world needs builders. What if that could be you?

There’s little else to talk about Blizzard’s unannounced survival game since nothing else has been revealed related to the project. The best thing we can do is wait for some leaks, although the project seems to be in the early stages of development, so it might take a while for any official news to come out.
