14 DAY TRIAL // Blizzard announced the launch of the Diablo franchise on Apple's mobile iOS platform and Android devices in the near future, in the form of a full-fledged MMO RPG with the story taking place between Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III.
The Diablo mobile game will be named Diablo Immortal and will be released as a mobile Massively Multiplayer Online Action RPG (MMOARPG) for iOS and Android devices, while being developed by Blizzard Entertainment in cooperation with NetEase.
According to Diablo's official Twitter, "Seeing is believing—Diablo Immortal is a breathtaking, full-fledged hack-and-slash mobile MMO action RPG, featuring a fresh take on familiar classes while exploring a new chapter in the history of the Eternal Conflict."
Most Diablo fans were utterly shocked by the news, and they expressed their feelings about the franchise's release on mobile platforms on Twitter and Reddit.
Diablo Immortal was announced at the start of BlizzCon 2018, with mostly negative feedback from fans
"We'll have dungeon instances - similar to World of Warcraft - that allow you to form groups of four to take on much more difficult challenges," said Blizzard designer Wayne Cheng according to MacRumors.
Diablo Immortal will make it possible that "With just a single input form your thumb you can begin an ability, charge the ability up, aim it and then release to fire off the ability."
Furthermore, Diablo Immortal will provide players with six different classes to choose from (i.e., Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, and Necromancer,) all providing a sophisticated combo of abilities and skills.
Although launched exclusively on mobile devices, Diablo Immortal is designed to extend the Eternal Conflict world to a massive online world shared by large amounts of players and allowing for both solo and co-op games.
Players who own an iPhone, an iPad, or an Android device and would want to get it, can pre-register on the official Diablo Immortal website.
