Publisher THQ Nordic has just announced that its action RPG Biomutant will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 6. More importantly, those who already own the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade to the new versions at no extra cost.

Also, players who have already played the PS4 and Xbox One versions, will be allowed to transfer their saves and continue their adventures on the new consoles. As far as new players go, Biomutant for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available for purchase for $40 / €40 / £35.

Obviously, the new versions of the game come with important enhancements. For example, the PlayStation 5 version of Biomutant allows players to choose between three different graphic modes: Quality (30 fps @ 4K resolution), Quality Unleashed (40+ fps, averaging 50-60 fps, up to 4K resolution), and Performance (60 fps locked @ 1440p).

Furthermore, the PS5 version will take advantage of the power of the DualSense. Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion control, and speaker sound will be fully leveraged by this version of the game. Additionally, the PlayStation-exclusive Activity Cards will offer players many different ways to jump back into Biomutant.

On the other hand, the Xbox Series X version of Biomutant will offer native 4K resolution with up to 60 fps, while the Xbox Series S game will provide a 1440p resolution and up to 60 fps. There are the three different graphic modes available to all Xbox players: Quality (30 fps @ 4K resolution / 1440p on Series S), Quality Unleashed (40+ fps, average 50-60 fps, up to 4K resolution / 1440p on Series S), and Performance (60 fps locked @ 1440p / 1080p on Series S).

Both PlayStation and Xbox players can bring their save files from the older consoles to the newer ones after upgrading for free to the enhanced version of Biomutant.
