Apple reportedly planning lots of iPhone changes

Apple is apparently considering all kinds of new approaches in an attempt to tweak its iPhone lineup to better address the changing market trends, so the company is already planning a series of changes on the models scheduled to launch in the next few years.

The next announcement on Apple’s roadmap is the new iPhone SE, which according to analyst Ross Young, could end up being called iPhone SE+ 5G.

The device will stick with the iPhone 8 form factor, so it’ll continue to use a 4.7-inch display with a classic body that integrates Touch ID and a home button.

Larger iPhone SE coming in 2023

On the other hand, Young says Apple is already preparing a larger iPhone SE.

We’ve known for a while that the company wanted to make the iPhone SE larger, especially by moving to a newer design that would have included a bigger screen and smaller bezels.

Many people believed Apple would use the iPhone XR, which means the company would make the switch to a Face ID device with an integrated notch.

Young claims the switch to a larger screen on the iPhone SE will take place in 2023, not in 2024 as it was originally expected. And as it turns out, Apple plans this new device to use a larger screen that will measure either 5.7 inches or 6.1 inches.

Most likely, this device will also come with a major redesign, so there’s a chance the home button might only survivor for one more year.

The new iPhone SE is expected to see the daylight in March or April, while the larger sibling could land in the spring of 2023. Of course, everything can change given we’re so far from its expected launch, so take everything with a healthy dose of skepticism for the time being.
