Bethesda has been trying to bring The Elder Scrolls Blades, its first-ever mobile game in the beloved franchise, to more audiences, but it looks like it failed to keep its promise once again. After delaying the mobile version numerous times in the past, Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls Blades won't make it to Nintendo Switch this year.

The developer claims that due to the nature of the changes it will implement in the game in the coming weeks and months, the Switch version of The Elder Scrolls Blades needs to be postponed until it's ready for prime time.

The Elder Scrolls Blades for Nintendo Switch is now scheduled for release in early 2020, Bethesda announced, but don't get your hopes too high. Based on the previous history, the game might be delayed again, so we won't be sure when exactly The Elder Scrolls Blades will arrive on Nintendo Switch until Bethesda confirms the release date.

We know how eager our players are to dive into Blades on the Nintendo Switch and we’ve been hard at work to make it happen. Unfortunately, amidst all the other changes we’re making to Blades, we’ve had to delay our Switch release until early 2020. We can’t wait until you can begin your quest in Blades on the Switch, and we’re confident this additional time will let us deliver the polished gameplay our fans deserve. We deeply appreciate your patience!

Bethesda reaffirmed its support for cross-platform gameplay and said that all PvP matches in The Elder Scrolls Blades will be cross-platform between mobile versions and the Switch version when it releases.

Speaking of PvP, the mobile version of the game will get PvP Arena mode that will be available to all players as soon as Update 1.5 hits in early December. Keep in mind though that you'll need to be at least level 5 to be able to join PvP matches.
