One more company warns of inventory issues

Getting an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max this holiday season is going to be close to impossible, as Apple is facing major inventory issues, not only in the U.S. but also everywhere else.

This is because of production struggles in China, as Apple’s suppliers are hit by restrictions in the country, including at the largest iPhone facility in the country.

After Apple itself warned that the Pro inventory is becoming very constrained, it’s Best Buy’s turn to come up with its own warning.

The company’s CEO has recently been cited by Reuters as saying that the Pro models are in very hot demand, and higher-end configurations experience what was described as “a bit of pressure.”

Apple warns of longer wait times

The Cupertino-based tech giant previously warned that the health crisis continues to cause problems for its suppliers in China, and as a result, the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is very likely to be impacted.

“COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain,” the company said.

Furthermore, Apple said, the waiting times will most likely increase for the Pro models.

“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products,” the company said, without actually providing us with an ETA as to when it expects the production problems to come to an end.
