KOEI TECMO and GUST Studios have just revealed new details about their upcoming JRPG, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy. Although the game doesn't have a release date yet, GUST Studios said the Atelier Ryza sequel will launch this winter, which means we'll be able to play it as early as December on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or PC (via Steam).

In a previous message to fans, GUST Studios confirmed that Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is set three years after the events in the first game and revolves around Ryza's journey to the Royal Capital of Ashra-am Baird.

While exploring the mysterious ruins that lay dormant around the Royal Capital in the hopes of uncovering the truth behind the bygone legends of the land, Ryza must overcome unique puzzles. Solving these puzzles lets Ryza unlock exciting new field actions, including the ability to ride monsters across the land.

More importantly, throughout Ryza’s adventure, her Exploration Diary will be pivotal when venturing throughout the various ruins. The diary organizes all of the player’s discoveries, allowing them to form their own theories and solve every mystery they encounter.

As they explore every inch of the ruins and complete their Research List while collecting “Ruin Fragments” and “Memory Fragments”, they will unlock clues which will then be stored in the diary. Although uncovering clues can be challenging, the “Compass of Recollection” will help a lot, as players will be able to evoke memories from the ruins allowing them to see the general location of where Ruin Fragments are located.

By solving these puzzles, players will be able to unlock special alchemy recipes to aid them on their quest, along with helping Ryza grow. But wait, there's more!

As some of you probably know by now, one of the characters from the first game, Klaudia will be part of Ryza's journey in the second game as well. But that's not the only character making a comeback for the sequel.

GUST Studios has just announced that Ryza's childhood friend, Lent Marslink will be joining the party as well. After their adventures on Kurken Island, Lent set off on a journey to improve his skills in combat. Over the years, his once cheerful demeanor has faded, and he’s not happy to reunite with his friends.

If you plan to purchase the game, you'll be pleased to know that gamers who buy a physical or digital copy of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy during the first two weeks of release will receive an Early Purchase Bonus code for the Summer Fashion Costume Set.

Also, gamers who have save data from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will be able to unlock the Classic Costume Set, including outfits for Ryza and her friends from the previous title.
