AsusWrt-Merlin has made available a new firmware package targeted at some of ASUS’ wireless routers, namely build 380.68.4, which fixes rstats that could occasionally crash at start time, and resolves the missing tabs on the Parental Control page.

If applied, the compatible routers will receive a new dnsmasq version (2.78) that includes some security fixes, and won’t have problems adding certain LAN clients to the TOR redirected client list.

Last but not least, the current update also resolves the “sort by remaining time” option on the DHCP Lease page, makes sure Realtek port status auto-refreshes on the Sysinfo page, and fixes QoS Scheduler behavior.

Regarding supported devices, the developer has provided several installation files compatible only with ASUS’ RT-N66, RT-AC88U, RT-AC87, RT-AC68, RT-AC66, RT-AC56, RT-AC1900, RT-AC1900P, RT-AC5300, RT-AC3200, and RT-AC3100 routers (all variants).

As for installation, just save and unzip the appropriate archive for your model, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, click on the “Choose File” button near the “New Firmware File” section, select the newly extracted .trx file, hit “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job. Bear in mind that interrupting this process can result in serious device malfunctions.

Last but not least, after finishing the installation, the router will automatically reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly; at this point, it would be a good idea to check the device’s current firmware version to make sure the upgrade has been successful.

That said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 380.68.4 for your specific device, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay informed when newer versions are available for your device.
