ASRock Outs New BIOS Versions for Its Z97 and Z170 Chipset Boards

Today, ASRock has announced the availability of several new BIOS versions developed for its Intel Z97 and Z170 chipset motherboards, which update the Microcode, improve PCIe, DRAM, NVME, and M.2 compatibility, and add i7-5775C, i5-5675C EZ-OC table.

In order to be clear, the producer has rolled out versions 1.40, 1.50, and 1.80 for its Z97 Extreme6/3.1, Z97 Extreme4/3.1, and Z97 Extreme6/ac devices, respectively, and BIOS 1.90 targeted at the Z97 Extreme9, Z97 Extreme3, Z97 Anniversary, and Fatal1ty Z97M Killer motherboards.

In addition to that, Z97M Anniversary, Z97 Pro3, Z97 Extreme4, Z97M OC Formula, and Z97 Extreme6 owners can also download the 2.00, 2.10, 2.30, 2.40, and 2.50 BIOS packages, respectively, while the Z170 Extreme7+ and Z170 Extreme4 users benefit from BIOS 2.00 and 2.10.

However, bear in mind that not all changes apply to each aforementioned board. Before considering an upgrade, check the description page of your specific model.

Considering this aspect, if you intend to flash a newer BIOS, you can either use the Instant Flash procedure that is able to carry out this task via BIOS’s Setup Menu, or the DOS file that will do the same thing from a DOS command prompt.

If these methods aren’t preferred, there is also a Windows archive that can be used to update BIOS simply by running the downloadable file directly from your computer.
