Huawei's power move involved giving away power banks

Everyone is used to seeing Apple get free marketing every time they launch a new product and this year Huawei wasn't going to let it happen without joining the hype party.

As reported by mothership.sg, Huawei sent some of its employees to give away free 10,000 mAh power banks to about 200 people sitting in line in front of the Orchard Road Apple Store in Singapore, with a note saying "Here’s a power bank. You’ll need it. Courtesy of Huawei."

Furthermore, Huawei also made sure to be outside Apple's store from Regent Street in London, where they parked a "Juice Van" ready to recharge all the iPhone XS devices that ran out of battery after leaving the store.

As Huawei tweet says, "Say hello to the Huawei Juice Van, it comes with brain-boosting drinks (with no traces of apple) to recharge minds, and plug sockets to recharge battery-depleted phones."

Huawei is set to release the Mate 20 Pro, the most powerful model in their new lineup

Huawei's funny tagline seems to hold its water given that their flagship the P20 Pro bundles a 4,000mAh battery, while  Apple's newly launched iPhone XS tag comes with a 2,658mAh one which, in theory, would translate into far shorter talk and standby times.

This troll move by Huawei does not come as a surprise seeing that the Chinese company went overboard sharing their less than stellar opinion about Apple's new iPhone lineup, which they deemed to be the same as the ones launched one year before.

Huawei is set to launch its new line of smartphones this year on October 16, with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro being the top dog with a rumored spec sheet featuring a 7 nm Octa-core, 2600 MHz HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC and 6 GB of RAM, coupled with a 6.9-inch AMOLED display and a 4200 mAh battery featuring SuperCharge tech.

During Q2 2018, Huawei also managed to sidestep Apple to take its second place in the top of worldwide smartphone sales.
