Apple has stopped signing the older iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 firmware to prohibit downgrades from the latest release, iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2.

Just a week after the release of the iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2 software updates, which were more like emergency releases to address the multitasking issues reported by many users, Apple is no longer signing the previous iOS 13.2 and iOS 13.2 firmware that allegedly caused these issues.

Therefore, staring November 14th, 2019, you won't be able to downgrade your iPhone or iPad running iOS 13.2.2 or iPadOS 13.2.2 to iOS 13.2 or iOS 13.2, or any previous version for that matter. This will also have a huge impact on the Jailbreaking community, which will be stuck with the older firmware that allows the to create the jailbreak.

But Apple does this shorty after releasing a new iOS and iPadOS software update to limit the spread of older software on iPhone and iPad devices. As such, users are encourage to keep their devices up to date at all times, which usually is a good thing for a more secure and stable experience.

iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3 are coming soon

Meanwhile, Apple is still working on the next big iOS and iPadOS software updates, namely iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3, which are currently in beta testing. These new versions are expected to arrive later this year, most probably in early or mid December with new features and improvements.

iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3 will be accompanied by the tvOS 13.3, watchOS 6.1.1, and macOS Catalina 10.15.2 software updates. Until then, if you're using iOS 13.2 or iPadOS 13.2, we recommend upgrading to the latest iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2 firmware as soon as possible.
