So it’s going to bring an AirPower clone in its stores

Apple officially abandoned the AirPower this year in March, but the company still hasn’t given up on the idea of allowing its customers to wirelessly charge more than one device at the same time.

So what Apple is trying to do is bring third-party multi-device wireless chargers in its stores, with the first one to hit the shelves as soon as the next week.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg revealed on Twitter that Morphie will be the first brand to make its way to the Apple Store with wireless multi-device chargers, and at least two different models are expected to go on sale.

Product pages already live

First of all, there’s the Morphie Dual Charging Base which allows users to charge two devices simultaneously, while a separate USB-A port makes it possible to connect a third device, like the Apple Watch. There are two wireless charging coils, each offering 7.5W.

Then, there’s the Morphie 3-in-1 Charging Base, which also supports the Apple Watch from the very beginning, without the need for a separate cable. This model comes with a charging puck for the Apple Watch built-in, and a USB-A port is longer offered, albeit it does support the AirPods.

Apple so far has remained tight-lipped on its plans for selling multi-device wireless chargers in its stores, but as you can see in the links above, the pages are already live on Apple’s Latin America online store.

The number of brands offering such accessories, however, is much bigger, so while Morphie will be the only one making its way to the Apple Store, there are lots of similar alternatives that you can find on Amazon. Most of them allow you to charge iPhones wirelessly at 7.5W, but only a handful actually include a charging puck for the Apple Watch and therefore do not require the cable.
