The new iPhones have finally left the building

Apple started the pre-order program for the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max on Friday, with the new devices scheduled to arrive at the doors of those who bought them next week.

And while everybody is obviously super-excited to receive the new iPhones, the 2020 models have finally left the building, which means they started shipping to customers who pre-ordered them.

What this means is that the UPS website now indicates that the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are on their way to customers, obviously with the ETA still set for Friday.

So while the shipping has already started, you won’t get your hands on the new iPhones before Friday.

Shipping already pushed back for new orders

On the other hand, worth knowing is that those who purchase a new iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max mini today would have to wait more to receive the devices. And that’s because Apple has pushed back the shipping for the new orders, most likely as the inventory has already been cleared and now Apple has to wait to make more iPhones before shipping them.

This year’s iPhone lineup has launched later than the typical schedule due to supply constraints and production challenges raised by the global health issues.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro were the first to be announced in October, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max were both projected to hit the shelves this month.

Apple no longer provides first-weekend sales figures, so it remains to be seen if the new models are selling well or not. At this point, it’s pretty clear that the increasing shipping times indicate supply constraints, so time will tell if the demand for the new models is strong enough or not.
