Apple has updated its App Store statistics page to inform us about the current adoption rate of its latest iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 mobile operating systems.

According to Apple's latest statistics, the iOS 13 mobile operating system, which was launched last month, is already running on more than half of the supported iPhone and iPod touch devices available on the market and introduced in the last four years.

More specifically, Apple says that iOS 13 is now used on 55% of all devices introduced in the last four years and on 50% of all devices, while iOS 12 is still used on 38% of all devices introduced in the last four years and on 41% of all devices, and 9% of all devices are using an earlier version.

Compared to last year's iOS 12 release, the iOS 13 mobile operating system saw a slightly better adoption among iPhone users despite dropping support for iPhone 6 and earlier devices. iOS 13 saw only 2% growth compared to iOS 12 on all supported devices introduced in the last four years.

Since Apple decided to make a separate OS for iPad devices, the company also provided statistics for its iPadOS 13 operating system, which already runs on 41% of all devices introduced in the last four years, as well as on 33% of all devices. iOS 12 is still being used on 51% of all iPad devices.

These statistics were measured by the App Store on October 15, 2019, based on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices introduced since September 2015, which were signed into the App Store since the release of the iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 operating systems.

We believe iOS 13 and iPadOS 13's adoption rate will soon be boosted by the upcoming software updates that Apple has in store, namely iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2, which are currently in beta testing and will be released sometime next month with various new features and improvements.
