CIRP data shows Apple brand loyalty currently at 90%

Apple has some of the most loyal customers in the world, 9 in 10 people who already own an iPhone planning to stick with the same brand when they replace their phones.

This is what a recent study conducted by CIRP reveals, as Apple therefore remains a company with surprisingly solid brand loyalty.

And more important, Apple’s sales are still going strong, with the company accounting for nearly half of all phones sold in the United States in the last three years.

How’s the Android ecosystem doing? Not bad at all, though it’s pretty clear Samsung is the company that’s leading the market on this front.

The South Korean company dominates the Android world by accounting for nearly half of the sales of phones running Google’s mobile operating system.

Samsung obviously top company in the Android world

But on the other hand, Android users switching to another brand is something that’s more likely, simply because there are more companies to choose from as compared to iOS where Apple is the only option.

“Switching brands within the Android operating system is easier than switching between Android and iOS, and loyalty to each operating system has remained at about 90% for the past several years. Even so, within Android smartphones, Samsung has the highest loyalty, with around two-thirds of Samsung buyers having owned another Samsung immediately previously. As Samsung maintained its loyal users, Motorola and LG saw lower loyalty a somewhat downward trend since the year ending September 2019,” the survey reveals.

Surprisingly, LG still has relatively strong brand loyalty, though it’s obviously collapsing these days given the company has already announced its departure from the mobile market. More than 30 percent of LG’s customers would have remained with the company for their next phone purchase.
