Apple released today the third developer beta versions of its forthcoming iOS 12, vOS 12, and watchOS 5 operating systems through its Apple Developer portal.
The iOS 12 beta 3 (16A5318d), tvOS 12 beta 3 (16J5313d), and watchOS 5 beta 3 (16R5313d) builds are available starting today only for registered developers interested in testing the compatibility of their apps with the next major versions of Apple’s operating systems.
The new betas come two weeks from the second beta builds and, as expected, they suppose to squash more of those pesky bugs affecting the previous two beta releases, such as the annoying GPS issue. Full release notes are available for developers on the Apple Developer portal.
If you’re using the second develop beta of iOS 12, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5 on your registered devices, you should update them right now through OTA (Over-the-Air) updates or by downloading and installing the beta 3 profile from your Apple Developer account.
Apple didn’t released a third beta version of macOS Mojave 10.14, but it released beta 3 of Xcode 10, which includes the latest beta SDKs (Software Development Kits) for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS application developers. We expect the beta 3 of macOS Mojave 10.14 to arrive this week too.
Second public beta expected in the next few days
Last week, Apple released the first public beta of its upcoming iOS 12, macOS Mojave 10.14, and tvOS 12 operating systems to public beta testers. We expect to see a second public beta version released sometime this week or early next week.
The second public beta will be based on this third developer beta builds, so it should be more stable and reliable, though we don’t recommend users installing it if they are looking to have a very stable and reliable experience. As usual, we’ll let you know as soon as it’s out.
Update 22:19: Apple also released the third beta of macOS Mojave 10.14 to developers, tagged as build 18A326g. Registered developers using the second beta can now update to developer beta 3 via the Mac App Store.
Update 05/07/18: Apple released the second public beta of iOS 12, macOS Mojave 10.14, and tvOS 12 to public beta testers. As expected, public beta 2 builds are based on the third developer beta versions.
