14 DAY TRIAL // After releasing the iOS 13.2, iPadOS 13.2, tvOS 13.2, and HomePod 13.2 software updates on Monday, Apple released today the watchOS 6.1 and macOS Catalina 10.15.1 software updates for all supported devices.
Both the watchOS 6.1 and macOS Catalina 10.15.1 updates includes support for the recently announced AirPods Pro true wireless earbuds, which will be available starting October 30th. The watchOS 6.1 software update is also here to add support for the watchOS 6 operating system series on the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 models.
On the other hand, macOS Catalina 10.15.1 introduces numerous improvements and new features, among which we can mention more than 70 new and updated emoji, HomeKit Secure Video in the Home app for privately capturing, storing, and viewing encrypted videos, support for HomeKit-enabled routers, and support for AirPlay 2–enabled speakers in scenes and automations.
New Siri privacy settings, bug fixes
Just like all the other software releases, the macOS Catalina 10.15.1 update also brings new Siri privacy settings to let users opt out of sharing audio recording of Siri requests to Apple to help them improve the digital assistant, as well as to be able to delete their Siri and Dictation history from Apple's servers.
On top of that, it improves the reliability of migrating iTunes library databases into the new Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple TV apps introduced in the macOS Catalina 10.15 operating system, and restores the ability to view filenames in the All Photos view, as well as the ability to filter by favourites, photos, videos, edited, and keywords in the Days view in the Photo app.
macOS Catalina 10.15.1 also fixes an issue where downloaded titles weren't visible in the Downloads folder in the Apple TV app, addresses a problem that may have caused the Contacts app to launch to the previously opened contact instead of the contact list, fixes issues in the Music app that may occur when displaying playlists inside folders and newly added songs in the Songs list, and resolves a notification issue in the Messages app.
