iTunes for desktop receives new pack of improvements

Apple has recently released a small pack of improvements for the desktop version of iTunes on both Windows and Mac systems, in addition to the OS updates that the company pushed a few hours ago.

With this update, iTunes reaches version 12.7.5, and according to the official release notes, this build is all about app and performance improvements, with no other specifics provided.

While it makes sense for iTunes to bring only small refinements given that the previous version landed in late April, it’s likely to include optimizations that improve compatibility with iOS 11.4, now available for download for iOS devices.

In other words, this iTunes update ensures smooth upgrade for iPhone and iPad, while also enhancing backing up and other tasks that you might be running when connecting your device to the computer.

No update for iTunes on Windows 10

Apple has recently launched the Windows 10 version of iTunes as well, and Microsoft users can download it at any moment from the Microsoft Store.

There are virtually no differences between the desktop and the Microsoft Store versions of Windows 10, and pretty much the same experience should be received regardless of the flavor you install.

On the other hand, it’s important to note that there’s no update for the Windows 10 version just yet, and the most recent release in the Microsoft Store is 12.7.4.83. This particular build is mostly useful for users who cannot install the Win32 version, like systems powered by Windows 10 with S Mode enabled.

With Apple’s WWDC conference taking place next week, this new iTunes update could include many more undisclosed changes, especially as the company is likely to roll out the very first iOS 12 preview version for developers.

You can download iTunes 12.7.5 from Softpedia right now, and if the app is already installed, you can use the built-in updating engine right away.
