Apple released today the iOS 13.3, iPadOS 13.3, macOS Catalina 10.15.2, tvOS 13.3, and watchOS 6.1.1 software updates for supported iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Watch devices.

The iOS 13.3, iPadOS 13.3, macOS Catalina 10.15.2, tvOS 13.3, and watchOS 6.1.1 software updates are now available with various improvements, new features, and lots of security fixes. Users can install the new software versions as usual via OTA (Over-the-Air) updates on their supported devices.

These new releases promise various assorted enhancements, including the ability to disable Memoji Stickers from the keyboard settings in iOS and iPadOS, new Communication Limits section in the Screen Time feature in iOS and iPadOS, as well as support for Lightning, USB, and NFC FIDO2 security keys in the Safari web browser.

What's new in iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3

New features in the iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3 updates include new parental controls that provide more communication limits over who your children can call, messages, or FaceTime, along with the ability to let parents manage the contacts that appear on their children's devices.

The Apple News app received a new layout with Apple News+ stories from The Wall Street Journal and other leading newspapers, the ability to dislike stories, support for English and French languages in Canada, and support for continuing reading with links to related stories or more stories from the same publication.

Moreover, the Photos app now allows the creation of a new video clip when trimming a video, the Safari web browser now supports NFC, as well as USB and Lightning FIDO2-compliant security keys, and the Mail app now correctly downloads new messages, no longer prevents users from deleting messages in Gmail accounts, and correctly displays characters in messages and fixes duplicated sent messages in Exchange accounts.

Other resolved issues in iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3 include a fix for an issue where the cursor may not move after long-pressing the space bar, an issue causing screenshots to appear blurry when they are sent via Messages, an issue where cropping or using Markup on screenshots may not save to Photos, as well as an issue where Voice Memos recordings may not be able to be shares with other audio apps.

Also fixed is an issue preventing the Dark Mode from turning off when Smart Invert was enabled, an issue where the Mobile Data setting may incorrectly show as off, an issue where the missed call badge on the Phone app may not clear, and an issue where some wireless chargers may charge more slowly than expected.

What's new in macOS Catalina 10.15.2, watchOS 6.1.1, and tvOS 13.3

New changes in the macOS Catalina 10.15.2 update include a new layout for Apple News+ stories from The Wall Street Journal and other leading newspapers, support for using an iPhone or iPad to remotely control the Music and TV apps on a Mac, as well as improved reliability when syncing books and audiobooks to your iPad or iPhone through Finder on a Mac.

The Apple News app has been updated with support for English and French languages in Canada for stories from Apple News, as well as support for links to related stories or more stories from the same publication at the end of an article. The Music app received fixes for various layout issues when managing the music library, album artwork, or music equaliser settings.

The Mail app got fixes for two issues, one of which may prevent using undo from retrieving deleted mail, and the other one causing Mail Preferences to open with a blank window. Lastly, the Photos app also received several bug fixes for issues related to viewing AVI and MP4 files, viewing newly created folders from appearing in Albums view, manually sorting images in an album, and the zoom-to-crop tool.

Also fixed in macOS Catalina 10.15.2 is an issue with the Reminders app where eminders may be out of order in the Today smart list, as well as a problem that may cause slow typing performance in the Notes app. On the other hand, the watchOS 6.1.1 and tvOS 13.3 software updates for Apple Watch and Apple TV devices are here to address various bugs and security issues. Therefore, all users are urged to update their devices as soon as possible.
