Apple released today the first minor bug and security update to the latest iOS 12.4 mobile operating system for iPhone and iPad devices, tvOS 12.4 for Apple TV devices, and watchOS 5.3 for Apple Watch devices.

Coming a little over a month after the release of iOS 12.4, a major update that introduces a new iPhone migration feature to allow users to wirelessly transfer their data from an old iPhone to a new one, as well as support for FaceTime audio and video calling on iPhone and iPad devices sold in Pakistan, iOS 12.4.1 is here to address important security and stability issues.

It is believed that Apple was quick to patch a security vulnerability that allowed the jailbreak community to create jailbreaked versions of iOS 12.4. However, Apple did not yet confirmed this, so it remains to be seen when they will publish the release notes. Also today, Apple released the tvOS 12.4.1 and watchOS 5.3.1 minor updates for Apple TV and Apple Watch devices.

Users urged to update their devices immediately

A new macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update is available as well today, bringing a fix for an issue that may cause certain MacBook computers to shut down during sleep, a problem that could degrade the performance of macOS when working with very large files, as well as an issue that may prevent the GargeBand, Keynote, iMovie, Numbers, and Pages apps from updating.

The iOS 12.4.1, tvOS 12.4.1, watchOS 5.3.1, and macOS 10.14.6 Mojave Supplemental Update software updates are now available for all users on all supported devices via OTA (Over-the-Air) update. Apple urges all users to update their devices to the latest software version as soon as possible for the best iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS experience.
