Just one day after releasing the iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, watchOS 5.1, and tvOS 12.1 software updates, Apple today kicked off the development of the next point releases to these new operating system versions.

The iOS 12.1.1 beta (16C5036c), macOS Mojave 10.14.2 beta (18C31g), and tvOS 12.1.1 beta (16K5035b) releases are now available for testing via the company's Apple Developer portal for registered developers with a paid and active subscription who want to test their apps against the upcoming software releases.

The release notes for the first iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1 betas contain no information about the changes included in these upcoming software updates, but we believe Apple is trying to keep its operating system secure by squashing the latest reported bugs and security flaws.

Application developers interested in test driving the iOS 12.1.1 beta 1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2 beta 1, and tvOS 12.1.1 beta 1 development releases can download the new beta profiles from the Downloads section on the Apple Developer website corresponding to the respective beta version and install it on their devices dedicated to beta software development.

First iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1 public betas coming soon

The public beta program will soon be refreshed to allow public beta testers to download and install the latest beta versions of the upcoming iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1 operating system updates on their devices too. This should happen in the next 24 hours from the moment of writing, but we'll update this story when they're available.

Meanwhile, and until we find more information about the changes implemented in the iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1 software updates, we recommend all users to install the latest stable releases on their devices, namely iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, and tvOS 12.1, but stay away from watchOS 5.1 because it's buggy and a new release should be out soon.

Update: For an unknown reason, Apple removed the macOS Mojave 10.14.2 beta from the Apple Developer portal. We recommend to refrain from installing it, if you’re already on the beta channel, until Apple publishes the update again.

Update 01/11/18: Apple released the first public beta of iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1, which are now available to everyone who want to install them and report bugs through the Apple Beta Software Program.
