More European banks will be supported later this year

Apple today updated the Apple Pay support page to inform its customers that more banks across the United States, Russia, China, Ireland, and Italy are compatible with its mobile payment and digital wallet service.

Apple Pay launched two and a half years ago, on October 20, 2014, and, since then, Apple tried to add support for as many banks and credit unions as possible, yet it's still not available everywhere in the world.

In fact, Apple Pay is currently supported in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Russia, New Zealand, Switzerland, France, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, San Marino, and Vatican City.

And it looks like Apple plans to bring Apple Pay to India, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Cyprus, and Brazil in the coming months, but, until then, Apple today added Apple Pay support to 27 more banks across the U.S., as well as to several major banks in China, Russia, Italy, and Ireland.

The newly supported banks in the U.S. by Apple Pay, include Almena State Bank, American Bank & Trust Company N.A., Associated School Employees Credit Union, Bank of Star Valley, Bofl Federal Bank, Caprock Federal Credit Union, Central Bank (AR), Central National Bank of Poteau, City First Bank, and Continential Finance Co..

The list continues with Evolve Bank & Trust, Farmers State Bank (NE), Farmers State Bank (TX), Fifth District Savings Bank, Fire Police City County Federal Credit Union First National Bank & Trust Company of Weatherford, First Oklahoma Bank, Fond du Lac Credit Union, Kansas State University Federal Credit Union, and Liberty Bank.

In addition to the above, Apple Pay is now supported on the MidWestOne Bank, Revere Municipal EmployeesFederal Credit Union, Security First Bank, Security State Bank, Stone Bank, UBI Federal Credit Union, and WesBanco Bank Inc. banks, too.

As for the international additions, we can mention Beeline Card, Credit Union, Kykyryza, Promsvyazbank, and Round Bank in Russia, American Express in Italy, AIB in Ireland, as well as Guilin Bank, Hunan Rural Credit Cooperative, JinCheng Bank, Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, Sichuan Rural Credit Union, SiChuan TianFu Bank, and Yibin City Commercial Bank in China.
