Just two weeks after Apple expanded its Apple Pay payment service to 27 banks across the United States, as well as various other major banks in China, Russia, Italy, and Ireland, the Cupertino company now expanded the service to more banks across the world.

While many are still waiting for Apple Pay to land in their country of origin, it looks like Apple recently added over 20 more banks and credit unions to its list of supported issuers across the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, and Japan, just in time for the major new features coming to the payment service this fall as part of the iOS 11 and watchOS 4 operating systems.

In the United States, Apple Pay is now available to Bank Forward, Campus Federal, Credit Union, First Bank & Trust (SD), Franklin State Bank, Farmers Savings Bank, Frost Bank, Glenwood State Bank of Minnesota, Kerr County Federal Credit Union, mBank, My Community Credit Union, NRL Federal Credit Union, Orrstown Bank, and Our Community Credit Union.

The list continues with Perennial Bank, State Bank of Cherry, Tropical Financial Credit Union, Union Bank & Trust, United Citizens Bank of Southern Kentucky, United Community Bank (ND), Valley National Bank, and Wymar Federal Credit Union. In Canada, customers of National Bank of Canada can now use Apple Pay, as well as Thomas Cook Cash Passport customers in the UK.

Here are the supported banks in Japan and Australia

In Japan, Apple Pay looks to be officially supported by The Tokyo Tomin Bank Ltd. and The Iwagin Credit Service Co. Ltd. banks, and customers of Police Credit Union Ltd. in Australia can also use Apple's popular payment service, which will soon be extended to more countries around the world, including Germany, India, Brazil, Cyprus, and others.

As mentioned before, Apple Pay will get cool new features as part of the upcoming iOS 11 operating system for iPhone and iPad devices, as well as the watchOS 4 operating system for Apple Watch devices. These include Person to Person so you can send money to friends and family with the iMessage app, and Apple Pay Cash, a virtual debit card to store money received from your contacts.
