Apple released today the first Supplemental Update to the latest macOS Mojave 10.14.6 operating system to address wake from sleep issues with certain Mac computers.

The macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update is now available for all Mac users running the latest macOS Mojave 10.14.6 operating system release. According to Apple's support article, it includes a fix for an issue that may prevent certain Macs from properly waking from sleep.

Therefore, if you're running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and encountered freeze issues or other type of problems with your MacBook or iMac after waking it from sleep, Apple recommends that you download and install the macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update as soon as possible.

How to install the macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update

The macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update is released through OTA (Over-the-Air) updates to Mac users, just like the rest of the macOS releases. To install it, all you have to do is open the System Preferences app, go to the Software Update panel, and click the "Update Now" button.

As all macOS updates, the Supplemental Update requires a restart to be installed correctly, so you'll be prompted if you want to download and restart after the download completes or at a later time if you still have work to finish on your Mac. If you choose to install later, you can also set a certain time to reboot.

Released on July 24th, 2019, the macOS Mojave 10.14.6 update improves the creation of new Boot Camp partitions on iMac and Mac mini computers with Fusion Drive, fixes an issue that may cause your Mac to hang during a restart, improves file sharing functionality over SMB, addresses a graphic issue that may occur when waking your Mac from sleep, and other bugs.
