Pre-orders are projected to begin in just a few hours

The wait is finally over, and Apple is now getting ready to begin the iPhone XS and the Apple Watch Series 4 pre-order program.

The Apple Online Store has been taken offline in anticipation of the pre-order kickoff, and it’ll be back online at 12:00 AM PT when the first customers will be allowed to reserve their devices.

Only iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 will be available today, as the iPhone XR will be released in October. Shipments of the new XS and Watch will begin a week later on September 21.

New iPhones don’t come cheap

While this isn’t such a big surprise given that it’s Apple we’re talking about here, the new-generation iPhone doesn’t come cheap.

iPhone XS starts at $999, just like its predecessor, despite rumors predicting a small price cut. Earlier this year, it was speculated that the iPhone X successor could be some $100 cheaper than the original version.

Apple, however, has decided to make big changes in its product lineup, and the iPhone X is no longer available for purchase. iPhone XS, on the other hand, replaces the X completely, and it also inherits its pricing in the United States and the rest of the markets.

iPhone XS Max, which comes with a 6.5-inch OLED screen, is the configuration that sets new records this year as to how expensive it is all over the world. In the United States, the top-of-the-range version with 512GB of storage can be purchased for $1,449.

Pre-orders will kick off in two hours, though it’s important to note that shipping times are likely to increase as more units are reserved. The iPhone XS Max is expected to be in high demand, so unless you’re among the first ones to pre-order this model, there’s a good chance you may have to wait more than a month to get it.
