Apple has officially released iOS 15.2 for all supported iPhones, as the company has started the rollout to production devices.

Previously, this particular iOS version was available exclusively for developers and public testers, but now all iPhones are allowed to download and install it from General > Software updates.

There are lots of improvements in iOS 15.2, and one of the highlights is the introduction of Privacy Report. This feature was specifically introduced to provide users with additional information on how apps access their details, therefore providing more control over their privacy.

“App Privacy Report in Settings lets you see how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts and more during the last seven days, as well as their network activity,” Apple says.

Messages improvements

At the same time, the Cupertino-based tech giant has refined the experience with Messages with the addition of new safety features specifically supposed to protect children.

“Communication safety setting gives parents the ability to enable warnings for children when they receive or send photos that contain nudity. Safety warnings contain helpful resources for children when they receive photos that contain nudity,” Apple says.

There are obviously plenty of other improvements and refinements, so for example, Find My can now locate an iPhone for a maximum of five hours after entering the Power Reserve.

As far as CarPlay users are concerned, iOS 15.2 introduces a fix for the Now Playing card, which has until now been broken down and failed to display any information for certain apps. And last but not least, iPhone 13 owners are getting a bunch of camera improvements too.

“Macro photo control for switching to the Ultra Wide lens to capture macro photos and videos can be enabled in Settings on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max,” Apple explains in the official release notes.
