And choose an iPad Pro instead because it’s a computer now

Apple is now fully committed to 2-in-1s, despite originally mocking Microsoft for investing in a tablet that works with a keyboard, and now it’s turning to various marketing tactics to drive more customers to its own iPad Pro.

The latest attempt to convince users that the iPad Pro should be “your next computer” is a video that highlights the advantages of this new device, and unsurprisingly, some of them have actually been used by Microsoft to emphasize why a 2-in-1 is such an advanced product.

For example, Apple says the simple fact that the iPad Pro supports more than a form factor, like tablet and laptop, is what makes it truly useful, and as we know already, this is actually how Microsoft promoted the Surface lineup when it was a new category on the market.

Furthermore, Apple notes the support for the Apple Pencil provides the iPad Pro with a more accurate input when it comes to drawing and writing. As Microsoft customers know for sure, the Redmond-based software too praised the Surface Pen on several occasions.

Apple goes on to state that the touchscreen and the A12X processor make the iPad Pro a real computer, though as tech watchers may be aware by now, Cupertino isn’t exactly the biggest supporter of the idea of bringing touchscreens to PCs and laptops.

Certainly, the iPad Pro is an advanced piece of technology that may be capable of replacing a computer for some customers, but it’s odd to see Apple highlighting the capabilities that others have used before to praise a category that the company didn’t even believe in.
