Apple will unveil three different iPhone models in just a few hours, and one of them is projected to be a more affordable configuration whose name was still uncertain.

Until now, that is, as the Cupertino-based tech giant itself has leaked the names of the new model through code included in the sitemap of its official page.

By the looks of things, the cheaper iPhone would be called iPhone XR, and not iPhone XC, as some rumors making the rounds lately suggested.

The device will be available in six colors, namely black, white, red, yellow, coral, and blue. Apple will offer three different storage versions, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

Starting price of $699 in the US

While the name doesn’t make much sense right now, Apple is expected to discuss more about it at the company’s press event later today.

One tidbit that is still an enigma for everyone of us is the starting price of the device. Until now, there’ve been all kinds of rumors pointing to either a lower price or a more premium tag, suggesting that Apple itself may not be sure how much to ask for the iPhone XR.

However, there’s a good chance that the device indeed starts at $699 in the United States when purchased with 64GB storage. The price may increase as you add more storage, so the 256GB version could get closer to the starting price of the new iPhone XS (iPhone X successor).

What will also be interesting to see is whether Apple plans to launch this model together with the other two iPhones or hold it back for a little longer.

Rumor has it that production struggles may cause a little delay and while the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max might hit the shelves in September, iPhone XR could only become available in the last week of the month or in early October.
