14 DAY TRIAL // Apple is getting ready to start the production of the iPhone 13, with a recent report indicating the company has reached out to suppliers to order components for the upcoming models.
Digitimes reports that several companies, including Cyntec, Quartz, and TXC expect a massive increase in revenues following its contract with Apple, especially as industry experts anticipate a substantial increase in smartphone sales this year.
So overall, Apple could increase its orders for the iPhone 13, though, for the time being, no actual figures are available.
Four iPhones coming this year
Apple is expected to launch four different iPhone models as part of the iPhone 13 generation, and all are successors to the current models already on the market.
In other words, Apple will take the wraps off a new iPhone mini, but also off improved versions of iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The only model that’s still uncertain, however, is the 5.4-inch form factor, as Apple has reportedly stopped the production of the iPhone 12 mini due to slow sales. So given the mini didn’t perform exactly as expected, it’ll be interesting to see if the company still wants to launch an upgraded model or not.
People with knowledge of the matter previously said the iPhone 13 would be the last generation for the mini, though given this production adjustment, there’s a chance Apple kills off this size a bit earlier.
The biggest change coming to this year’s iPhones is a smaller notch, though right now, this is likely to happen exclusively on the Pro and the Pro Max models. Other than that, the new iPhones would be visually similar to the models already available on the market, with the focus to be on under-the-hood upgrades, including a new processor and improved cameras.
