Apple has recently launched the iPhone 14 lineup, but it’s not a secret that the company is already working on the very-next model expected to launch in the fall of 2023.

And a report from Apple leakster LeaksApplePro provides us with a closer look at what to expect, as it looks like the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning some pretty big changes next year.

First and foremost, the Dynamic Island will make its way to all iPhone models, so it will no longer be exclusive to the Pro versions. This means the notch will go away completely, with the Dynamic Island to also make its way to the standard iPhones.

Then, the leak claims Apple will drop the Lightning connector in the favor of USB-C. This is a big change that Apple is likely to embrace under the pressure of the European Union, as USB-C is becoming mandatory for smartphones sold in Europe.

Launch in the fall of 2023

In addition, Apple is apparently planning to rename the Pro Max model as well. The company could therefore go for the Ultra moniker in an attempt to create more consistency in its lineup.

“The 6.7-inch iPhone 15 “Pro” will be called Ultra and be differentiated a bit more, and that includes pricing. I expect it to start at $1199 at best. I’ll have more specific info about features closer to release,” the leak reveals. “Apple is already working on 8K recording, although it is unclear whether this will be available for all the Pro lineup or just for the iPhone Ultra. Apple wants battery life to improve by 3-4 hours next year, specially on the iPhone Ultra.”

At this point, however, everything is still in the early stage, so don’t be too surprised if Apple’s plans change overnight, as we’re very far from the moment the iPhone 15 series is projected to see the daylight.
