Apple is projected to take the wraps off the new iPhone generation in September, and people familiar with the matter already indicate that some pretty huge upgrades could be part of the new generation.

However, the Cupertino-based tech giant has so far remained tight-lipped on everything, so while some very reliable sources have shared tidbits related to the iPhone 14, we should just take everything with a pinch of salt.

Unfortunately, Apple analyst Chris Caso of Raymond James has a forecast that we can’t just ignore. He says Apple might be forced to raise the prices of the new products launching in the fall, including the iPhone 14, because of the current problems the world is struggling with, including the component shortages, the lockdowns in China, and the war in Ukraine.

iPhone 14 to see daylight in September

“Apple posted a strong March quarter, but commentary implied incremental weakness in June driven by currency, the loss of Russia revenue, and the most significant impact coming from production issues driven by China lockdowns. We assume revenue of ~$81B take these factors into consideration. The production issues ought to be transitory – and they occur at the best possible time of the year during the weakest seasonal period ahead of fall launches,” the analyst said, as per PhoneArena.

“We think that sets September up well assuming China normalizes. We, however, consider FX and Russia to be more permanent, and now fear that Apple may need to raise prices in local currency when new products launch in the fall, if exchange rates don’t change by then. When that’s happened in the past, rising local prices have a negative effect on unit demand. Finally, Services are expected to grow but decelerate y/y, something we think that’s been anticipated but remains a factor.”

Apple’s new iPhone generation will be announced in September, with people familiar with the matter claiming the company plans to start the sales of all new models during the same month.
