The company is expected to launch several new devices

Apple is betting big on Apple Silicon, and unsurprisingly, the company is working around the clock on migrating its entire device lineup to the new custom ARM chip.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the first half of the year will include several big announcements on this front, as the company plans to take the wraps off new Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro, Mac mini, and iMac Pro.

The debut of these models will most likely take place in the spring, though more specifics in this regard aren’t available right now.

If Gurman is right, then Apple is working on more than just a single Mac Pro, including a model with up to 40 CPU cores and 128 graphics cores. There’s also a new Mac mini and a new iMac Pro that would complete Apple’s transition from Intel to its own processors by WWDC this year.

The M2 is already on its way

Apple is already working on the M2 chip, the first successor to the M1, though Gurman says this is unlikely to come with a substantial improvement in terms of performance.

Apple has praised the performance and efficiency of the M1 chip on every occasion.

“M1 is the first personal computer chip built using cutting-edge 5-nanometre process technology and is packed with an astounding 16 billion transistors, the most Apple has ever put into a chip,” Apple said.

With its profound increase in performance and efficiency, M1 delivers the biggest leap ever for the Mac.”

Of course, everything is currently in the rumor stage, so just take this information with a healthy pinch of salt.
