The official Parler site is back online, it seems

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook discussed the return of Parler to the App Store in an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News, explaining the app is more than welcome on the company’s platform as long as the right updates are being made.

“We looked at the incitement to violence that was on there,” Cook explained. “We don’t consider that free speech and incitement to violence has an intersection.”

Parler’s website is back up

While Parler has nearly been erased from the Internet, the company is now trying to get back online, with the official website back up the last weekend.

CEO John Matze told Fox News he expects the app to be back online by the end of the month, explaining the domain has been moved to host sharing website Epik after Amazon banned it.

"Every day it changes wildly, but I feel confident now," Matze said. "We’re making significant progress. When you go into Parler.com it doesn’t go into the void now, it hits a server, and it returns just one piece of information"

Indeed, the Parler website is back online at the time of writing, only that it now shows a notification pointing to technical difficulties the company is trying to deal with

“Now seems like the right time to remind you all — both lovers and haters — why we started this platform. We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!” the message reads.

Matze, who confirmed his company sued Amazon following its decision to ban the service, managed to recover the data from the servers, so the dev team can focus on rebuilding Parler.
