14 DAY TRIAL // Apple announced today that it introduces new ways for its customers to enjoy and support America's national parks with a new Apple Watch Activity Challenge and an Apple Pay donation program.
Apple is doing its part to keep America's national parks wild and beautiful as they are by announcing a new donation program via its Apple Pay digital payment system. Starting August 24, 2018, until August 31, 2018, Apple is donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made by customers in the United States with Apple Pay on apple.com, at any Apple Store, or through the Apple Store app.
"America’s national parks are treasures everyone should experience, and we’re proud to support them again this month by donating a dollar for every purchase made with Apple Pay at one of our stores," said Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. "These awe-inspiring places are our national inheritance, and Apple is doing our part to pass them on to future generations — just as extraordinary, beautiful and wild as we found them."
Apple Watch Activity Challenge celebrates Redwood National Park's 50th anniversary
Apart from the Apple Pay donation program, Apple will run a limited edition Apple Watch Activity Challenge on September 1, 2018, for all Apple Watch users around to celebrate Redwood National Park's 50th anniversary. To win the new badge and two new stickers inspired by national parks for the Messages app, Apple Watch wearers will have to complete a walk, run, or wheelchair workout of 50 minutes or more.
Apple Watch wearers should receive the notification about the Redwood National Park's 50th anniversary Apple Watch Activity Challenge on their Apple Watch smartwatches, as well as on the Activity app on their iPhone devices, at the end of the month. Meanwhile, to help customers celebrate America's national parks, the App Store will highlight a collection of some of the best apps for exploring these beautiful landscapes.
