Apple today announced the financial results for the second quarter of its fiscal 2019 year, which ended last month on March 30th, reporting new all-high record for Services, but also a strong growth for the iPad.

In Q2 2019, Apple made a quarterly net income of $11.2 billion and quarterly revenue of $58 billion, or $2.46 per diluted share, which shows a decline of 5 percent from last year's second quarter for the quarterly revenue and a 10 percent decline for the quarterly earnings per diluted share.

The company reports all-time high record for Services, bragging with more than 1.4 billion active devices, but a big part of the revenue also comes from wearables sales, as well as home products and accessories. Not to mention that 61 percent of Q2 2019's revenue comes from international sales.

"Our March quarter results show the continued strength of our installed base of over 1.4 billion active devices, as we set an all-time record for Services, and the strong momentum of our Wearables, Home and Accessories category, which set a new March quarter record," said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

Apple also saw its strongest iPad growth in the last six years, following the recent announced for two new iPad models, an all-new iPad Air and iPad mini 5, both featuring high-end features and performance, and promised innovative hardware, software and services to be announced at WWDC 2019 in June.

Apple's predictions for Q3 2019

For the third fiscal 2019 quarter, Apple predicts a quarterly revenue between $52.5 billion and $54.5 billion with a gross margin between 37 percent and 38 percent, as well as operating expenses between $8.7 billion and $8.8 billion. The company also predicts other other income/(expense) of $250 million and a tax rate of approximately 16.5 percent.

Apple will provide more details about its Q2 2019 financial results with select members of the press via a live conference call streaming that starts at 2:00 p.m. PDT on April 30th, 2019. The live streaming is available at www.apple.com/investor/earnings-call/, and can be listen at any time during the next two weeks.
